    Who Are You at Neutone?

Hi, I’m KO! With a background in media art, I discovered my passion for sound during graduate school through exposure to sound art and experimental music. I’ve been a huge fan and heavy user of Neutone since the release of FX, and I’m also one of the early users of morpho. Working with the team was a dream of mine and… tada! It came true!

I joined the team in August 2024, and I’ve been growing with Neutone ever since.

    What Do You Work on?

I am responsible for the model training service here at Neutone. I am literally the pâtissier who cooks the submitted materials and bakes them into tasty models. 🙂 Sometimes I also contribute to the design team, creating 3DCG visuals for the v1.1 release teaser. I also help with small demos that showcase how morpho can alchemize the sound.

    Why are you doing this?

Neutone has inspired me deeply. I want to share this captivating sonic world with other sound enthusiasts, whether through behind-the-scenes work or visual expressions. I’m super excited to witness how Neutone creates a new musical and cultural landscape with their (our) cutting edge technology and beautiful products. I’m also willing to promote Neutone further in the market to reach as more people as possible.

What do you hope Neutone offers artists/musicians?

I hope morpho can not only satisfy artists’ standard production needs but also provide them space for sonic exploration. I’m particularly drawn to the artifacts produced by Morpho—you can’t really recreate these unique sounds with conventional sample instruments, can you?

I hope morpho can serve as an excellent starting point for artists to experiment with ** ethical ** AI music technologies and be the catalyst for the new forms of sonic expression.

    What’s next for you?

I don’t know. I trust in serendipitous encounters and random opportunities. Maybe one day I’ll catch a spark of inspiration and start building and writing my neural instrument. I do want to develop an adequate interface and appearance for next-era instruments.

What are you listening to these days?

Recently, I’ve been listening to tracks by instrument creator Kirkis. His sounds feature intense, warping textures and they hit me so hard… I’m also browsing Keiichiro Shibuya’s albums, which span a diverse range of genres, even including collaboration with artificial life?!
